1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms govern your use of thehollowbetween.space and its related features. By using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms.
2. Entertainment only
The Hollow is a fictional, creative experience. References to submitting your soul, pledging to gods, omens, cults, sacrifice, divine influence, or supernatural consequences are storytelling devices and have no literal or religious effect.
The service does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial, spiritual, navigational, or safety advice. Do not rely on its generated prompts, stories, visitors, or fictional entities when making real-world decisions.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity performed through your account. Provide accurate account information, do not impersonate another person, and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
Progress, streaks, ranks, unlocks, and digital rewards are features of the experience. They have no cash value, are not property, and may change when the game is balanced, repaired, or updated.
4. Community conduct
You may not use the service to harass, threaten, exploit, stalk, deceive, or endanger others; publish personal or confidential information; sexualize minors; promote self-harm or violence; distribute malware or spam; evade moderation; impersonate others; or post unlawful, hateful, sexually exploitative, or otherwise seriously harmful material.
Do not attempt to break into the service, scrape it abusively, disrupt availability, manipulate progression, automate submissions, access another person's account, or bypass restrictions and safety controls.
5. Real-world Drifts
Drifts are optional observation prompts, not directions to a guaranteed destination. Remain in public, lawful, accessible places. Do not trespass, drive while using the site, enter abandoned structures, approach unsafe people or animals, visit hazardous terrain, or continue when conditions feel unsafe.
Check weather and surroundings, follow posted rules, respect private property, and consider traveling with another person. Stop immediately if a Drift creates risk, discomfort, or conflict. You remain responsible for your choices and safety.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of original content you submit. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt for formatting, moderate, and distribute it as needed to operate and promote the service. This license ends when the content is removed from active systems, except for reasonable backups, legal records, or content already incorporated into shared interactions.
Only submit content you have the right to share. Because nodes, profiles, messages, and discoveries may be public, do not include personal information or anything you expect to remain confidential.
7. Moderation and availability
We may review, restrict, remove, or preserve content and may limit or suspend access when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect visitors, comply with law, or maintain the service. Automated filters can miss harmful context and may sometimes block harmless words.
We may change, pause, or discontinue features without guaranteeing that particular content, progression, or functionality will always remain available. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
8. Intellectual property
The Hollow Between's name, interface, original lore, gods, runes, artwork, code, and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not give you permission to copy, sell, or create misleadingly official versions of the service.
9. Disclaimers and limits
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data, lost profits, or harm arising from reliance on fictional content, interactions with other visitors, or voluntary real-world activities.
10. Changes, governing law, and contact
We may update these Terms as the service changes. Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them. Material changes will receive reasonable notice.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law where you live requires otherwise. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
